The Coral Reef Home
In a vibrant coral reef teeming with life, two unlikely friends lived together: Finley, a tiny goby fish with big, watchful eyes, and Clawdius, a hardworking pistol shrimp with an oversized claw. Their bond was built on symbiosis—Finley kept watch for predators while Clawdius dug and maintained their shared burrow. Together, they protected one another in the vast, unpredictable ocean.
"Hey Clawdius, the coast is clear! Keep digging, buddy!" called Finley.
"Thanks, Finley! I'm on it!" replied Clawdius as he tirelessly worked on their burrow.
Their teamwork was seamless. But not everyone understood their dedication. Bedazzle, a flamboyant Decorator Crab with a shell covered in colorful bits of algae and coral, scuttled over.
"Why bother with all that digging? You should be out here making yourselves look fabulous like me!" she said haughtily.
"We're getting ready for the changing tides, Bedazzle. The ocean can be unpredictable," Finley patiently explained.
"Yeah, and our home keeps us safe!" added Clawdius with a snap of his claw.
Bedazzle waved her decorated claws dismissively and scuttled off in search of more decorations.
The Unexpected Threat
As seasons changed, danger arrived at the reef. Invasive sea urchins with sharp spines began wreaking havoc on the coral. The once-thriving reef was now in chaos as sea creatures fled in distress.
While many sought safety elsewhere, Finley and Clawdius's well-maintained burrow provided them with a secure haven. But Bedazzle wasn’t so lucky.
"Oh no! The urchins are destroying everything! Where can I hide?" she cried in panic.
Kindness & Teamwork
To everyone’s surprise, Finley and Clawdius opened their home to Bedazzle.

"Wow, Bedazzle! That’s brilliant!" said Clawdius, impressed by her creativity.
Together, the trio hatched a clever plan. Using Bedazzle’s artistic eye for camouflage, Finley’s watchfulness, and Clawdius’s powerful claw, they created decoy burrows to confuse the invasive sea urchins.
A Reef Saved
Their teamwork paid off! The sea urchins were redirected away from the reef, saving it from destruction. Joyful sea creatures celebrated their victory.
"I’ve learned that true beauty comes from being helpful and prepared. Thank you, friends," said Bedazzle humbly.
Finley and Clawdius realized that an unexpected friend could make their team even stronger. Being prepared was important—but so was being open to new friendships and ideas.
